How to add a default value

When saving or updating a field, you have the option to define an initial or default value. Here's how to set it up:

1. Click "Content Settings" in the field editor screen.
2. Under "Default value for create," specify the value you want to appear when adding a new record.
3. From the options menu, you can choose parameters like "User" to use the editing user's ID, "Current Date" to set the date to the present, "Current Profile" for the editing user's profile, or, if the field is a dropdown, you can select the first value from the dropdown as the default value.
4. Similarly, you can set a default value for updates. For example, you can use "Current Date" as the default value for a "Modify Date" field.
